David Elias QC, defending Whall, said there was no evidence linking his consumer to Mr Lewis – who he explained as a “fraudster” – prior to the capturing but stated Mr Lewis owed Jones funds for some function he experienced accomplished.
He added: “Mr Whall experienced no connection to Mr Corrigan. He experienced, we say, totally no motive to do this.”
