Former Commons speaker John Bercow is poised to join the Household of Lords right after currently being put ahead for a peerage by Labour, it has been claimed.

The transfer will increase eyebrows at Westminster as Mr Bercow experienced been a Tory MP prior to having up the function of parliamentary referee.
