Choosing a Concrete Pump

If you are wondering about what to look at when selecting a concrete pump for your next project then you have come to the right place. In this article, we will share three main factors that everyone should pay attention to while selecting a concrete pump.

Concrete Pump For Construction:

When assessing a concrete pump, there are three main factors to consider:

1) Power source. The power source determines how fast the pump can move concrete. Electric concrete pumps are much faster than gas-powered ones but can be more costly for home use.

In conventional concrete pumps, an auger cuts through concrete with the help of a motor. This generates heat, which further weakens the cement.

However, unlike conventional pumps, an electric one doesn’t use an electric motor to push or pull the auger. Rather, it uses a DC-powered pump that’s also called a drive-on auger pump.

2) Conceded level of power needed. There’s no single answer for this, so you’ll need to look at your own project and decide which level of power is appropriate for your situation.

For example, if you’re using a small electric pump at home, the cost is low enough that you could afford to pay a little more to have a pump with a faster motor or larger capacity.

But if you’re transferring a lot of concrete in a large commercial job, going with a more powerful electric model isn’t worth it.

3) The capacity of the pump. This refers to how much concrete it can pump in an hour — and how quickly it will stop pumping once full.

The more capacity you need, the more expensive the unit likely will be — but if you only need enough power for an occasional project, paying extra for a larger model isn’t necessary.
