3D Drainage Geomat

3D Drainage Geomat is a kind of three dimensional network like towel gourd net mat for grass planting and gravels solidation. It leaves 90% of space for filling soil, grit and fine stones and plant root system can pass through it easily.

It channels away below-grade water quickly, resists hydrostatic pressure, and protects spray-on waterproofing membranes from backfill soil. It also comes with an assortment of accessories to make installation easy.

Erosion Control

Erosion on slopes, embankments and channels easily results in damage or pollution. Natural vegetation alone cannot prevent erosion. With the help of 3D geomat, the plant roots can intertwine with the mat and be held firmly on the surface. Thus, the slope is reinforced and transformed into a green area.

Geomat is a three-dimensional polyamide mat, which consists 3D Drainage Geomat of a core and a non-woven fabric on one side or both sides. It is thermally bonded to ensure that the mat does not float in water and has higher strength compared with PE or PP. The mat is also resistant to rodents and bacteria.

The strands of the mat are wide and have a certain direction, which helps directional drainage. The mats are also permeable, which allows for the free movement of water and oxygen. This improves soil stability, reduces pore water pressure and soil gravity, and improves the anti-erosion ability.

The mat is also prefilled with a 2-6 mm bitumen bound mineral filter of stone chippings to further enhance the soil reinforcement and protection. With its high tensile strength, 3D geomat can withstand the forces of wind and heavy rain drops. In addition, the 3D geomat is easy to install. Workers just need to dig a 6” x 6” trench and place the blanket in the slope. Then, they can staple anchor it to the ground.

Reinforcement

The three dimensional structure of 3D geomat prevents damage and pollution caused by soil washed from slopes, embankments and channels. It provides protection for bare soil before vegetation grows and protects it once it’s grown by offering a green compound protective layer with high resistance to wind, rain and hydraulic load.

3D Drainage Geomat is made up of a layer of PP (or PE) mat and bound with a non-woven geotextile fabric or geomembrane on one side. The mat is then reinforced with a layer of double twisted hexagonal wire mesh. The combination of the two materials makes an integral mat which is much stronger than unreinforced geomats, it also reduces construction time because there’s no need for additional reinforcement.

It is not only very light and flexible, but also has a high thermal stability and is not attractive to rodents and bacteria. It is a good choice for the drainage of wasteyards, roadbeds, railways, and slopes.

During the process of installation, first lay out the 3D Drainage Geomat on top of the slope. After that, put the soil backfill over it and compact. Then, mix the grass seeds with the adhesive, fertilizer, auxin and moisture agent evenly by a certain proportion and spray it on the surface of the slope using a hydraulic spray machine. The grass will grow firmly on the geomat, protecting the slope and strengthening it.

Drainage

There are countless ways moisture can damage and degrade structures; effective drainage technology is vital. Mar-flex’s 3D Drainage Geomat is designed to channel below-grade water towards drainage systems, protect waterproofing or dampproofing membranes from damage and reduce hydrostatic pressure on a structure.

Geomat takes a three-dimensional network like towel gourd net mat for grass planting and soil consolidation, and leaves 95% space for filling soil, grit, gravels and fine stones. Its open structure ensures grass roots can pass through easily and grow soundly. It can prevent erosion, stabilize slopes, and improve green areas.

The upper and lower composite two-layer non-woven fabrics are tightly bonded by heat fusion, and the central drainage core board is made of polypropylene to form a longitudinal full-section drainage channel that prevents blockage, allowing quick water flow and good drainage effect. The drainage channel also allows for soil backfilling and hydraulic spray seeding.

First, clean up the slope, then unroll and lay down the drainage geomat. Then, spread the grass seeds evenly on the geomat and apply fertilizer, auxin, and water to promote plant germination. After that, use a hydraulic spray machine to perform seeding. The grass will grow naturally on the Geomat and form a strong composite protective layer that can withstand wind, rain and erosion risks, and transform into stable and full-scale green surfaces.

Green Building

The three-dimensional network like towel gourd net mat can be used for grass planting and soil consolidation. It’s loose and flexible in texture, leaving 90% of space for filling soil, grit and fine stone, so the plant roots can pass through and grow comfortably, orderly and evenly on the slope casting surface. The black geomat can absorb a lot of heat, increase ground moisture, promote seed germination and prolong the vegetation growing period.

It can be buried in the ground, then compacted and secured with fastening nails or U staples. After the soil backfill is finished, 3D Drainage Geomat can be sprinkled with composite drainage material grass seeds and mixed with cement, fertilizer, auxin, moisture agent and water by a certain proportion and spray evenly on the slope surface by hydraulic spray seeding machine.

InfoDrainage enables the visualization of exceedance routes and overland flow corridors, which helps design projects with less impact on waterways. This drainage analysis tool is built using the open-source SWMM5 engine and has a deeper physics modeling approach than competitive tools, which provides more accuracy and better results.

The drainage boards can be installed with spray-on waterproofing membranes in applications to reduce hydrostatic pressure or as a substrate for green roofs. They can also be used to protect a waterproofing layer from damage caused by construction activities.
